The Sandy Oaks City Park is located at 4451 Hickory Haven and is open from 8:00am to dusk. Currently there is a 1/2 mile walking trail, a children;s play area, basketball court, picnic tables and a pavilion.
The Parks Committee meets on the the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month at City Hall and is a group of citizens lead by Alderman Tom Repino as Chairman with John Crickmer serving as co-Chair. They all work together to develop park improvement solutions to recommend to the City Council for consideration.
The Park Committee is very interested in gathering input from citizens as they work to recommend improvements. Below you will find a form where you can submit suggestions and sign up for various volunteer opportunities.
Complete the survey and tell us what you would like to have available in the City Park. Are you available to volunteer to help with clean up projects, painting, landscaping, or design ideas? Do you have an interest in coordinating activities in the park? Some ideas that have been suggested would be crafts, learning about native plants and animals in the area, or coaching a sports activity.
