Open Records Statement
Open Records Requests (in accordance with the texas Public Information Act, chapter 552 Government Code) must be submitted in writing and must include your name, address, phone number, the type of report you need, the date of incident, case number (if known), and name/s of persons involved. The request must be signed and dated. Submit form to either the City Secretary or City Clerk Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Accident Reports are not available through the Sandy Oaks Police Department Records Department. The reports must be purchased through either Crash Records Information System (CRIS) TxDOT Crash Report Purchase Portal. There is a $6 fee for accident reports. Reports are withheld from release to the public for 72 hours after the report has been approved. For questions or assistance with the CRIS System, call (844) 274-7457.
Anonymous Tip Line
The Sandy Oaks Police Department offers an opportunity to submit information (i.e. suspicious activity, possible criminal activity, etc.) easily and most important anonymously. Simply submit your tip or information in this form and it is automatically submitted to the Police Department. If you want to include your name and/or contact information, please feel free to do so; however, it is not necessary. This tip line is not monitored 24 hours a day. If you are reporting an in-progress crime or need immediate police attention, please call 911 and tell the operator that you wish to remain anonymous.
